Spending & Budgets

Track expenses, spending and budgets with Fillfolio

Track bank expenses, spending, income and monthly category budgets in Fillfolio. Dashboard and read-only MCP access for ULTRA and HYPER, with explicit bank consent.

Understand bank spending

Review categorized purchases, income and monthly cash flow alongside your portfolio. Search and filter by account, category, date and original currency. Bank activity stays separate from investment transactions and never subtracts purchases from an already imported balance.

Set category budgets

Set monthly limits that repeat automatically, without rollover. See actual spending and remaining amounts for each currency. Correct categories or exclude transactions, with warnings wherever history or classification is incomplete.

Choose what you share

Enable spending separately for each supported bank, then grant spending or budget access separately to each AI client. Authentication and bank-action verification protect consent changes. Read-only connections cannot place trades or transfer funds.

Available on ULTRA and HYPER for supported banks. Imports follow provider updates, with visible freshness and history coverage. The separate Google Sheets spending add-on is planned; the existing portfolio add-on remains separate.

Spending and budget questions

Which plans include spending and budgets?

ULTRA and HYPER include spending tracking for supported connected banks. Existing institution and account limits still apply. Each bank requires a separate spending opt-in; balances-only connections remain available.

How much bank history can I see?

New banks connected with spending enabled request up to 90 days of available history. Existing connections retain their original history window; opting in cannot extend the initial window retrospectively. Coverage depends on the institution and account. The dashboard shows import status and incomplete-history warnings.

How often does spending update?

Fillfolio imports available transaction updates from the provider’s scheduled updates. Timing varies by institution. Reloading the dashboard reads stored data and does not purchase an on-demand bank refresh. Pending transactions appear separately and do not count in posted spending.

How are refunds, transfers and currencies handled?

Posted purchases count toward spending. Refunds reduce spending in the month they post. Identified internal transfers and credit-card repayments remain visible but are excluded from spending and income. Uncertain classifications are flagged for review. Totals and budgets stay separate for each currency; missing currency or history produces a coverage warning.

Do monthly budgets repeat or roll over?

Category limits repeat into following months without rollover. Changes apply from the selected month forward, preserving earlier monthly limits. Spending uses the whole month, independent of transaction-list pagination or search filters. Category corrections and exclusions are retained across bank updates.

Can my AI app read bank spending and budgets?

Yes, through the existing authenticated Fillfolio MCP connection after you explicitly enable spending-read or budget-read access for that client in Settings. Existing portfolio permissions do not expand automatically. MCP reads stored data; it cannot refresh banks, change budgets, move money or trade.

What happens if I disable spending or my paid access ends?

Disabling spending stops transaction retrieval and removes imported history and corrections for that bank while preserving its valid balance connection. Bank removal and paid-access cleanup also remove associated spending history. Saved budget limits remain available for viewing and deletion after paid access ends; actuals are marked unavailable or incomplete. Previously exported data or AI conversations cannot be erased by revoking access.

Is a Google Sheets spending add-on available?

A separate Google Sheets add-on for spending and budgets is planned for a later release. The current portfolio add-on does not synchronize bank spending or budgets.
