Workflow

From portfolio to workbook in three deliberate steps.

The add-on never edits Fillfolio data. You choose what to export and when to run it. Your spreadsheet receives full financial values, ready for calculations.

Watch the add-on demo
  1. 01

    Connect your Fillfolio account

Open the add-on sidebar and approve the connection in Fillfolio within ten minutes. Review Google's install permissions, which can include account email and personal information.

  2. 02

    Choose your scope

Select all portfolios, a source group, or an existing saved view. Sync includes full financial values, visible to anyone with access to your spreadsheet.

  3. 03

    Sync the managed tabs

Choose Portfolio or Spending & Budgets, set your filters and click Sync reports. Sync reads stored data; it does not refresh a bank. Keep personal calculations outside managed ranges.

Workbook structure

The portfolio views you expect, already organized.

Portfolio sync creates 10 tabs, including Settings and Sync Log. Spending & Budgets adds four worksheets after you approve Spending for this spreadsheet. Data Studio uses nine optional reporting worksheets when you opt in and run Sync all for Data Studio.

Before you connect

Which Fillfolio plan do I need?

Portfolio sync is included with paid Fillfolio plans. Spending & Budgets requires ULTRA or HYPER, supported spending-enabled banks, and a separate permission for each spreadsheet connection. Installing the add-on does not upgrade your plan.

How do I set up and refresh the spreadsheet?

Install Fillfolio - Portfolio Net Worth Tracker from Google Workspace Marketplace. Open its sidebar, connect Fillfolio and approve this spreadsheet. Choose Portfolio or Spending & Budgets, select your scope, then click Sync reports. Existing connections need explicit Spending approval. Sync is manual and one-way; spreadsheet edits never write back to Fillfolio.

What data is exported, and how fresh is it?

Portfolio mode exports all holdings, a source group or a saved view. Spending & Budgets exports an overview, bank transactions, breakdown and budgets. Filter spending by dates, currency, account, exact category, budget group, search and review status. Budgets use a separate full calendar month across enabled accounts. Sync reads stored data and does not refresh banks. Currencies stay separate.

Will syncing overwrite my calculations?

Each sync replaces the managed report ranges with the selected export, and those ranges can grow as your data grows. Keep personal calculations and notes in separate tabs. The add-on maintains its report tabs and appends sync status to the Sync Log.

What Google permissions does the add-on use?

The add-on declares Google permissions for the current spreadsheet, its sidebar and requests to Fillfolio. Google's install screen can also list access to your Google Account email address and personal information. Review the full permissions screen before approval. The add-on does not request Drive-wide access or send spreadsheet cell contents back to Fillfolio. Spending & Budgets also requires an explicit Fillfolio data permission per spreadsheet.

Does Privacy Mode hide values in Google Sheets?

No. Sync exports full financial values so you can use quantities, prices, balances, and returns in spreadsheet calculations. Anyone with access to the spreadsheet can view those values. Fillfolio Privacy Mode only hides values in the app. Disconnecting stops future syncs; it does not erase existing cells, copies, or spreadsheet version history.

How do I revoke access?

Choose Disconnect in the add-on sidebar to revoke its Fillfolio connection. Future syncs require a new connection. Reports already written to a spreadsheet remain there; remove those separately if needed.

Does installing the add-on give an AI assistant access?

No. Sheets sync and Fillfolio MCP access are separate connections. An AI assistant needs its own authenticated, approved MCP connection to access Fillfolio data. Installing the Sheets add-on does not authorize MCP access.

Can I export bank spending and budgets to Google Sheets?

Eligible accounts can also sync bank transactions, spending summaries and budgets after approving Spending data separately for that spreadsheet. Manually sync available Fillfolio portfolio data to the current Google spreadsheet. Sync is one-way, and spreadsheet edits do not change Fillfolio or refresh connected institutions.

Can I view portfolio and spending reports in Google Data Studio?

Use the Sheets add-on to prepare a combined portfolio, spending and budget report in Google Data Studio. The report uses an exported snapshot and requires an eligible Spending & Budgets plan plus separate Spending export permission for the spreadsheet.
